- Oct 297:30 PMURI Symphony Orchestra, Luis Viquez, directorThe URI Symphony Orchestra will perform music by Shostakovich, Rodgers, Grieg and a world premier, "Humans on Earth", by Kingston RI pianist and social activist, Christine Müller. Also featured is URI piano professor Dr. Manabu Takasawa in 19th century German wunderkind composer Carl Filtsch's Konzertstück for piano and orchestra. Luis Viquez, director.
- Oct 298:00 PMURI Symphony Orchestra I, Fall 2025The URI Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of Dimitri Shostakovich, Richard Rodgers, Edvard Grieg and a world premier of "Humans on Earth" by Kingston, RI pianist and social activist Christine Müller. Also featured will be URI Piano Teacher Dr. Manabu Takasawa perfoming the rarely heard "Konzertstück for Piano and Orchestra" by German wunderkind composer Carl Filtsch (1830-1845).

Based on Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel, the musical follows the March sisters - Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy - as they come of age during the American Civil War. With its sweeping score and heartfelt story, "Little Women" celebrates resilience, imagination, and the enduring power of family. With Michael Kelly, music director, and Ryan Cox, conductor. Presented through special arrangement by Music Theater International (MTI).
