This program will introduce students to a variety of sports/physical activities and teach them to analyze personal physical activity information collected using technological devices, such as heart rate monitors and pedometers. Students will learn exercise physiology and pedagogy applications and education pedagogy on how to use these devices in a school setting. They will also complete a surf therapy portion, teaching children with disabilities and wounded warriors how to surf.No surfing experience is necessary, but students should be comfortable in the water and with basic swimming skills. Students should be prepared to participate in rigorous hikes and other forms of physical activity.Students will earn 3 credits in EDC 407.This course is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Please note that the tuition is based on the per-credit course fee for January courses.
