- Jun 1411:00 AMSouth County PrideThe Fifth Annual South County Pride Festival is set to take place on June 14, from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM, at the Contemporary Theater Company. The event aims to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the South County Pride Foundation’s values of equity, education, and community engagement across South County. Join us for a colorful day filled with live entertainment, local vendors, scholarship awards, raffles, and more! The festival kicks off with the town’s favorite LGBTQ+ car parade at 11:30 AM, followed by vibrant performances from a variety of artists showcasing the rich diversity of our Rhode Island community. We are excited to welcome local musicians — Midnight Honey, DJ Sissy, Grenadine, Queen Anne's Lace, and drag performances curated by Providence’s celebrated Drag performer Ninny Nothin (including Ladda Nurv, Darren Tashine and Valerie Joy).This year, the festival will include the 2nd annual Youth Scholarship Awards, given to local high school seniors to help sustain their future goals; and the LGBTQ+ Elder Change Maker Award will be presented to Richard Muto, in honor of his brain injury recovery support work and creative arts contributions to Rhode Island.
