The University will honor graduates over three days, May 17-19, in formal ceremonies at the Ryan Center, and will host other celebratory events throughout the weekend. The ceremonies will recognize both undergraduate and graduate degree candidates from the respective colleges.

The University Academic Excellence Awards are presented each year to graduating seniors who have proven to be exceptional students. These students have been selected by their respective departments as the most outstanding in their chosen fields. Each recipient receives a certificate of student excellence and a University of Rhode Island medallion.

The University of Rhode Island is excited to celebrate both undergraduate and graduate students in a new fall ceremony to be held Saturday, December 16, at 10 a.m. in the Ryan Center.All undergraduates and graduate students who are scheduled to complete degree requirements by December 2023 are eligible to participate. Graduate School students who complete degree requirements by August 2023 are also eligible to participate in the December ceremony. Graduates can still choose to participate in the May 2024 ceremony, too.
