URI Theatre presents: Bakkhai by Theo Fantozzi
The University of Rhode Island Theatre Department brings ancient Greece to the stage with a bold, student-led production of Euripides’ "Bakkhai," translated by Anne Carson. Directed by senior Theo Fantozzi, this reimagined classic blends timeless themes of power, identity, and divinity with a fresh, modern edge—set in a speakeasy and infused with live music.Featuring a talented student cast and original musical direction by Skyler Bobinski, "Bakkhai" explores the clash between order and chaos, reason and passion, and the consequences of denying the gods.

Graduate School students who complete degree requirements by August 2023 are also eligible to participate in the December ceremony. Graduates can still choose to participate in the May 2024 ceremony, too.
- 2:09:512024 College of the Environment and Life Sciences and Graduate School of Oceanography CeremonyThe University will honor graduates over three days, May 17-19, in formal ceremonies at the Ryan Center, and will host other celebratory events throughout the weekend. The ceremonies will recognize both undergraduate and graduate degree candidates from the respective colleges.
