- DescriptionThe University of Rhode Island will hold its 62nd annual Honors Colloquium this fall, titled, “Education, Behind the Curtains.” Join us for the University’s premier lecture series on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. beginning in September and continuing through December.
This year’s Honors Colloquium will provide a valuable opportunity for the URI community to engage in a thoughtful and informed dialogue on the challenges facing education today. The way we educate students is constantly evolving, but are we preparing them for the future or reinforcing outdated systems?
“Education, Behind the Curtains” will explore how history, policy, and innovation shape learning from early childhood through higher education. From artificial intelligence-driven instruction to the growing need for equity-minded educators, this series will dive into the most urgent challenges in pre-K–20 education. Through critical conversations with experts and practitioners, we will examine how schools, colleges, and universities can better serve students and society in an ever-changing world.

Please join us for these free events throughout the fall in Edwards Hall or online, and take note of the new, earlier start time of 5:30 p.m. for the lectures. - Websitehttps://events.uri.edu/event/fall-2025-honors-colloquium
