The URI Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and the American Band present an afternoon jamboree of music for winds and percussion, all under the baton of Dr. Brian Cardany, Director of Bands at the University of Rhode Island. URI Lyric Stage Workshop presents "Little Women" with music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickerson, and book by Allan Knee. Based on Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel, the musical follows the March sisters - Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy - as they come of age during the American Civil War. With its sweeping score and heartfelt story, "Little Women" celebrates resilience, imagination, and the enduring power of family. With Michael Kelly, music director, and Ryan Cox, conductor. Presented through special arrangement by Music Theater International (MTI).
