The political science major started as an attorney and later moved to television as a lifestyle expert and consumer products correspondent. Hear why she made the transition and what lessons she has learned along the way. The discussion will be moderated by another TV personality—Nikki Noya ’00, co-host of the travel and lifestyle show The JetSet.Elizabeth Werner ’93Elizabeth Werner started her career as an attorney admitted in New York, Maryland, and the Second Circuit of New York. However, once her children were born, she developed a passion for consumer products that made life easier and happier.Werner has spent the last two decades researching and presenting her favorite consumer products to the world through television, digital media, and radio. She has repeatedly appeared on popular national and local television shows and radio stations including The View, CBS Mornings, Tamron Hall Show, Fox and Friends, CNN, Access Hollywood, the Today Show, and others. She has also been a Guest Host on QVC since 2000. Werner also appears as a spokesperson in sponsored media tours presenting products within different fun topical themes throughout the year to local TV affiliates and radio stations across the country.Moderated by Nikki Noya ’00Nikki Noya is a Harrington School of Communication and Media graduate and Division 1 volleyball Atlantic 10 champion. After URI, Noya was a professional volleyball player and began a career in television. In 2016 she joined the cast of the travel and lifestyle talk show The JetSet, first as a wellness correspondent and now as co-host and executive producer. Noya is also a board member and vice president of Dress For Success, chair of the Noya Fields Family Foundation, and a member of the URI Foundation & Alumni Engagement board of directors.About the Women in Leadership SeriesThe Women in Leadership Speaker Series showcases the inspiring careers of highly successful and influential women and provides the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with students and alumni.
