- All dayGardening Information and Soil Testing ScheduleStatewide Gardening Information and Soil Testing ScheduleFrom March through October, our URI Master Gardener volunteers offer free soil pH testing to Rhode Island residents, helping you understand your soil's health and providing recommendations for improvement. Bring a soil sample to the event and our experts will determine its pH levels and texture, offering guidance on achieving optimal soil conditions for your gardening needs.Additionally, explore our Gardening Information and Soil Testing (GIST) booth, where you can ask gardening questions and access a wealth of resources to support your horticultural goals.Learn how to take a soil sample and access the statewide schedule by visiting: uri.edu/coopext/services/gist
- 8:30 AM8h 30mThe Way We See: A Visual and Emotional Conversation exhibit from Anthony TomaselliThe exhibit includes 50 works of art (3 series of work) by noted Rhode Island Artist Anthony Tomaselli, and runs through September 5.
- 10:00 AM6hGardening with the Masters TourA biennial, two-day event that allows ticket holders to visit the beautiful gardens of (and tended by) certified URI Master Gardener volunteers. Tour participants have the opportunity to go behind the gates at gardens that showcase environmentally-friendly gardening practices across Rhode Island. Examples of practices on display include hot and cold composting, native plant pollinator gardens, hugelkultur, low-input vegetable growing, drip irrigation, small-space and container gardening, and more! Each ticket admits one visitor to all the gardens open during the official tour weekend. During the registration process, you will have the option to purchase multiple tickets (up to ten). Ticket purchases are non-refundable. Tickets are transferable in the event that you are unable to attend the tour. The official guidebook for the 2025 Gardening with the Masters Tour is being finalized; we expect to send it by email to ticket holders after July 1.Bring Family and Friends, but kindly leave your pets at home with the exception of service animals: Admission is free for youth under 18 accompanied by an adult.
