Viola Davis delivered a stirring keynote address during 2024 commencement ceremonies at the University of Rhode Island. To a capacity crowd and several standing ovations, Davis shared a message of transformation, healing, and love. A graduate of Rhode Island's Central Falls High School, Davis is one of only 19 people to have achieved EGOT status and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters from URI during the ceremony.
