No. 17/18 Rhode Island scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat New Hampshire 38-27 on Saturday. Trailing 27-17, fourth-year quarterback Devin Farrell’s 27-yard pass to fourth-year receiver Marquis Buchanan set up fifth-year running back Brendon Barrow’s 19-yard touchdown. Farrell later scored on a scramble to give the Rams the lead. Third-year Moses Meus’ strip sack and second-year Rohan Davy’s fumble return for a touchdown sealed the win for Rhode Island. FINAL (10/11): Davidson College 1-0 URI
FINAL (10/15): URI 4-0 Central Connecticut State University
A penalty kick lifted Davidson past Rhode Island 1-0 on Saturday night. Rhode Island fourth-year Brett Schwab was called for a foul in the box in the 58th minute, and third-year Patrick Ward converted the kick for the Wildcats, scoring his first goal of the season. It was the only goal of the match, with the teams combining for nine shots on target.
The Rams matched up against CCSU for their senior day on Wednesday, defeating the Blue Devils 4-0. The match was capped off by the first career goal for first-year Sinan Bruning, scored in the 89th minute. For more, visit Chase Abrams’ article.

FINAL (10/12): URI 2-0 Davidson
Rhode Island defeated Davidson 2-0 on Sunday to extend its unbeaten streak to four matches. Third-year goalkeeper Dani Eden recorded her ninth shutout of the season, setting a program record and surpassing Jamie Epperlein’s ’02 mark of eight in 2001. Third-year Lauren MacDonald scored in the first half, and fourth-year Sarah Yee added her first career goal in the 85th minute. Eden made two saves as the Rams improved to 10-3-1 on the season. FINAL (10/11): Virginia Commonwealth University 3-0 URI
FINAL (10/12): Virginia Commonwealth University 3-2 URI
VCU swept Rhode Island 3-0 on Saturday, winning 25-20, 25-21 and 25-18, as the visiting Rams controlled each set despite strong stretches from second-year Havyn Rolle, fourth-year Kiera McCarles and third-year Chloe Abuto for Rhody. VCU defeated Rhode Island 3-2 on Sunday, winning 25-16, 23-25, 24-26, 25-19 and 15-13. The visiting Rams improved to 8-7 overall and 6-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, while Rhode Island fell to 3-16 and 0-7 in conference play. For more, read Michael Sormanti’s article.

ITA Division I New England Regional Championship (10/9-10/10)
Rhode Island’s doubles team of fourth-year Nikki Fernando and first-year Kajsa Helgesen advanced to the Round of 32 at the ITA Division I New England Regional Championship on Friday with an 8-4 win over Boston University. The pair was forced to withdraw before their next match due to a minor injury for Fernando. Rhode Island hosts the URI Fall Invite on Oct. 25-26. For more, read Abby LePage’s article.
Men’s Cross Country
New England Championship (10/10): First of 21 teams
Rhode Island won its second New England Championship in three years on Friday, finishing 46 points ahead of the University of Massachusetts. Third-year Nick Martin placed third in the eight-kilometer with a time of 24:06.33, and third-year Garrett Hartline finished fifth in 24:07.62 to lead the Rams, who had five runners in the top 22. Women’s Cross Country
New England Championship (10/10): Sixth of 25 teams
Rhode Island finished sixth out of 25 teams at the 2025 New England Championship on Friday. Fourth-year Lily Saul led the Rams with a 10th-place finish in 17:46.90, and fourth-year Linsey Arends surged from 105th at the one-mile mark to finish in 62nd, helping Rhode Island edge Holy Cross by one point. Moraine Intercollegiate (10/14): Fourth of 14 teams
Rhode Island sat in seventh place at 10-under par after day one of the Moraine Intercollegiate, with four of its five golfers shooting even par or better, led by second-year Luke Stennett at four-under. Rhode Island capped a strong showing at the event with a one-under final round to finish fourth overall, leading all non-Power Four conference teams, and topping programs from the Big Ten Conference, Southeastern Conference and Atlantic 10. FINAL (10/11): URI 203-94 Siena College
FINAL (10/11): URI 225-68 Stonehill College
Rhode Island opened its season on Saturday by winning 11 of 16 events and sweeping Siena 203-94 and Stonehill 225-68. Fourth-year Olivia Winslow, third-year Julianna Tyler and first-year Molly Beckwith each won two individual events. This included Winslow’s one-meter and three-meter diving victories, Tyler’s 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly wins, and Beckwith’s 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly victories.
