- Oct 151:00 PMMetcalf Institute Inclusive SciComm Visioning SessionThe Metcalf Institute is working to re-engage our Inclusive Science Communication (ISC) community, and we want to hear from you.Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 1 to 2 PM ET for a virtual session for the ISC community to meet our new team and for us to collaborate as a community on the programming you need and want. Some questions we’ve been thinking about: What support do you need in your work now? How would you like to come together, and how can we help connect the community? If you attended a past Inclusive SciComm Symposia hosted by the Metcalf Institute, what did you love about it, and what new ideas would you like us to consider? For those unfamiliar with the term, ISC departs from traditional science communication practices by prioritizing inclusion, equity, and intersectionality as both central parts of the process and as desired outcomes. We are looking to bring together people who work to shift science and science communication toward a just, equitable, and inclusive future -- people who work across diverse disciplines and settings, such as practitioners, researchers, teachers, students, community organizers, engineers, medical and technical professionals, and more. Please register here: https://uri-edu.zoom.us/meeting/register/zocKSqifTHGSlF3a6yViWQ#/registrationIf you have any questions, email Mel Thibeault, Metcalf's engagement & outreach specialist, at mel.thibeault@uri.edu.
