- 3:31Celebrating a historic day and act of generosity at URIOn Nov. 15, 2024, the University of Rhode Island announced a $65 million gift that will support scholarships for high-achieving students. The philanthropic gift—the largest in the University’s history—is the result of an estate gift from the late Helen Izzi Schilling, a 1954 graduate of the University. The gift was unveiled during a celebratory event on the Kingston Campus.
