Women’s Swim and Dive
Atlantic 10 Championship (2/20-2/22)
The University of Rhode Island fourth-years Hannah Benavides and Ella Hacker posted the team’s best finishes at the Atlantic 10 Swim and Dive Championship on Saturday. Benavides tied for sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Hacker also placed sixth in the 200-yard butterfly. Baseball

Final (2/23): Oregon 15-2 URI
On Friday afternoon, the Rams started their four-game series against No. 11 Oregon with a 12-11 win. Second-year Joe Sabbath secured the win by getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth. In their second meeting, the Rams were defeated 1-0 in 11 innings, with a costly error in the bottom of the final frame proving to be the difference. Fifth-year Trystan Levesque pitched 10 scoreless innings, striking out nine. Rhode Island lost once again 19-12 in the second game of a doubleheader. Men’s Track & Field
Brown Invitational (2/22)
Men’s track and field wrapped up its final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship, competing at the Brown Invitational in Providence on Saturday. The Rams finished in fourth place with 71 team points. For more, visit Justin Theriault’s recap (rhodycigar.com).
Women’s Track & Field
Brown Invitational (2/22)
The women’s track & field team competed at the Brown Invitational on Saturday. Fourth-year Kayla Clark led the way for URI, winning the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds. She was one of four Rams to finish in the top three at the event.
Women’s Lacrosse
Final (2/22): Rider University 13-12 URI
Final (2/26): Bryant University 19-5 URI
Rhode Island lost 13-12 to Rider after a five-goal fourth quarter by the visitors on Saturday afternoon. The Rams led early and regained a 10-8 advantage heading into the final period, but Rider scored three straight goals to take an 11-10 lead. Men’s Basketball
Final (2/22): Saint Louis University 81-66 URI
Final (2/26): University of Dayton 85-77 URI
Saint Louis fought its way to a 81-66 win over Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon. The Billikens never trailed, responding to every URI run. After Rhode Island fourth-year David Green’s layup cut the deficit to 43-42 early in the second half, Saint Louis went on a 7-0 run and outscored the Rams 38-24 the rest of the way to secure the win. Women’s Basketball
Final (2/23): URI 42-40 University of Massachusetts
Final (2/26): Saint Louis 67-63 URI
On Sunday afternoon, Rhode Island defeated UMass 42-40. With 16 seconds left and a one-point lead, fourth-year Sophie Phillips forced a turnover, and third-year Ines Debroise made a free throw to seal the win. The Rams held on for their fifth victory in six games. The Rams traveled to Saint Louis Wednesday evening. Golf
World Golf Village Collegiate (2/24)
