Contestants Sought for Halftime Baby Race
Registration KINGSTON, R.I.
- Rhode Island Athletics and South County Health are teaming up for a baby race to be held at halftime of the men's basketball game against Davidson on Saturday, Jan. 18.Fans can sign their baby up for a chance to participate. Babies must be between the ages of six months to 12 months old to compete for the baby race title. The South County Health Baby Race will occur on Saturday, Jan. 18 at halftime of the men's basketball game against Davidson. The game itself begins at 2:00 p.m.
All participants must have tickets to the game (babies are not required to have a ticket). Eighth contestants will be selected from those who are registered for the race. Selected participants will be notified of their selection on Jan. 13 by the URI Marketing and Promotions staff. Each baby must have 2 adults with them on the court.
South County Health is providing a total of $2,250 in scholarship money for the participating babies, with additional prizes to be announced.
- First Place - $1,000
- Second Place - $500
- Third Place - $250
- Participants 4-8 - $100 each
