Art League RI and the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography are featuring the works of artists and scientists in a new exhibition titled “The Synergy Project: A Collaboration of Art and Science” at Studio Blue on the URI Narragansett Bay Campus.With its goal to communicate oceanographic research to wider audiences through art exhibits and events, The Synergy Project has paired artists across many mediums with scientists from URI and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since 2020. This third Synergy Project group exhibition features 50 pieces from returning artists and scientists as well as new work exploring new topics. Each exhibition is an opportunity for guests to learn about ocean science in an engaging and unconventional way, prompting new conversations about science and its importance in climate regulation and ocean health with communities near and far.

Written 27 years ago, The Vagina Monologues is based on writer V’s (formerly Eve Ensler) “Vagina Interviews” conducted with 200 women all around the world. The play is a compilation of monologues performed by various women that address the issues of violence against women, rape, domestic violence, and genital mutilation. The play is unorthodox and at times shocking.All proceeds will benefit the Women’s Center and the Gender and Sexuality Center. Your support will help these centers continue their critical work in fostering a community focused on gender equity, free from violence and oppression. Their core values include creating a campus culture where all individuals feel valued and safe and contributing to an environment where everyone is empowered to embrace and express their authentic selves.The Vagina Monologues contains references to sexual assault and violence, sexually explicit material, and language that could be offensive to some. A stunning, new translation of Euripides' play by a poet and classicist Anne Carson.
