Rhody Athletics Challenge Set for Oct. 24

The University of Rhode Island Department of Athletics will hold its first-ever Rhody Athletics Challenge on Thursday, Oct. 24.

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island Department of Athletics will hold its annual giving day, re-branded this year as the Rhody Athletics Challenge on Thursday, Oct. 24. 

Philanthropic efforts such as this fundraising campaign are essential to provide operational support to enhance the success of URI's 19 NCAA Division I programs, which are already off to a strong start in 2024-25. 

The Rhody Athletics Challenge reflects the spirit of competition as teams with the highest combination of dollars raised and donors will be rewarded as follows:

Men's team bonus funds
    •    First Place: $7,500
    •    Second Place: $5,000
    •    Third Place: $2,500
    •    Fourth Place: $1,000

Women's team bonus funds
    •    First Place: $7,500
    •    Second Place: $5,000
    •    Third Place: $2,500
    •    Fourth Place: $1,000
    •    Fifth Place: $750
    •    Sixth Place: $500

The URI Spirit Squads (Ram Band, Ramettes and Cheerleaders) will also be raising funds. The squad the raises the most will receive $1,500 and the next highest will receive $1,000

All gifts made between now and October 24 will count towards the goal. To help spread the word on social media, use the hashtag #RhodyAthleticsChallenge.
