Join Musicians Guild on November 22nd for our 5th annual Rock n Swap competition! Event starting at 5:00pm in the Rams Den of the Memorial Union, free for all attending!Rock n Swap is an annual competition that Musicians Guild holds where participants sign up with their preferred instruments and get randomly placed in a band with people they may have never played with or even met before! After getting placed into a random band, the bands have roughly two weeks to make a set for the competition featuring at least one original song that they created with their band. The URI Lyric Stage Workshop, Rachel Hanauer, director, and David Gilliland, pianist present, appropriately enough, two full productions of the 1977 musical, Working, book by Stephen Schwartz (Godspel, Wicked) and Nina Faso, music by Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Mary Rodgers, and James Taylor (yes, that James Taylor), and lyrics by Schwartz, Carnelia, Grant, Taylor, and Susan Birkenhead, in a 2002 revived version that includes two songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton).
